After the last birthday party I found my child humping the left over balloons. Should I allow this? I don’t know if this is a one time thing. I don’t want to scar them by popping the balloons and I still want them to have balloons at parties and I’m not sure how to explain to them that it’s wrong. Should I allow them to play with the balloons? Should I break them all after the party next time? Any help is appreciated.

i saw this once on a spring break party in florida (the person who popped his/her balloon got a free mini-vodka bottle and a stupid t-shirt….) and wonder if this makes a good party game for a summer/pool party.

would you do it or would you be scared?
p.s they used those small earplugs which you get on the plane and the popping sound was not that loud…

    helium/carbondioxide? helium/argon? what percentages.

The idea is that helium by itself will escape too easily, but when mixed with larger molecules, those molecules will plug the interstices where helium can escape. Is this a valid supposition?

The New Year party was going to happen but didn’t because of problems with the venue. The 500 balloons were supposed to be for a drop at midnight. We will be having a party but will now be at my house and we will have a few kids but mostly adults here. Around 40 people. I want to use the balloons but can’t put up a net. Can anyone suggest some good balloon games that can be made to last a while as we don’t have any other entertainment other than music and food.

This is for something I’m writing…how many birthday party type helium balloons would it take to make a goldfish (just the fish–maybe 1 1/2 to 2 inches long–not the bowl or anything like that) float away? Thanks ahead of time for your answers!

    ok, here’s the deal:

We have a baby shower that will start at 9am on a Sunday and we need helium balloons (that float) for some of the decorations as well as for some of the party games.

The party store (the only place near by to buy helium balloons) does not open until 10:00am on Sunday.
They close at 9:00pm on Saturday night.

If we bought the balloons between 8-9pm on Saturday night, would they still float for the party at 9am on Sunday morning?
Or is that too long of a time to wait overnight and they would just sink?

thanks to anyone who might be able to help.
